Mrs. Claus Holly Stevenson, Instructor

Holly received her Theatre Degree (BFA) from the University of Victoria in Canada and studied Clowning with Master Clown teachers Philippe Gaulier and Sue Morrison.

After moving to Atlanta, she apprenticed with the Academy Theatre, beginning her 35 plus year career in Children’s Theater performing several one-woman storytelling shows for thousands of Georgia schoolchildren.  Adults have seen her onstage in a variety of roles at many Atlanta theaters.  She also works on-camera, sings, and voices commercials, e-learning and games. 

For 8 years, she was an agent and performer for an entertainment agency, expressing her multiple personalities from Princess Jasmine to the Baby Eagle Mascot during the Atlanta Olympics and honing her interactive and clowning skills. 

A teacher of the Alexander Technique, a practical way to bring together awareness, gentle movement and body mechanics to meet the demands of performance and non-performance activities with support, ease and freedom, she currently teaches AT for the Apprentice Program at the Shakespeare Tavern and was a faculty member of the Dance Program at Emory University for 18 years. 

She brings her experience in Non-Violent Communication - a practice that creates connections between people through compassionate listening - to her teaching, providing an increased clarity of communication between her students and herself. 

A lifelong learner, she grows her creative self with improvisation, writing a little sketch comedy and voice and character classes.
