Rivka Levine, Instructor

Rivka earned her B.F.A. in Musical Theater from Syracuse University, and her M.F.A. in Media and Performing Arts from Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). She is currently the full-time Development Director, an Acting Ensemble Member, and the in-house Music Director for the Atlanta Shakespeare Company.

As an actor, Rivka’s expressive face, facility with dialects, varied musical talents, and superb comic timing have earned her multiple film, TV, and VO credits, as well as extensive live theater experience. She has worked with such notable performers as Queen Latifah, Courtney Vance, Fred Willard, Dolly Parton, Danny McBride, and Valerie Harper. Rivka has taught, acted, and directed live theater in the Atlanta area for more than two decades. As a musician, Rivka has collaborated with 5 Grammy award winning artists in genres ranging from country to rap to gospel, and is presently being trained in Opera by the internationally-recognized soprano, Leah Partridge. She has recording credits on more than a dozen CDs ranging from children’s music to folk to jazz.

As the resident Music Director for both the Atlanta Shakespeare Company and the Georgia Renaissance Festival, she specializes in bringing together performers of varied skill levels, coaching them to a cohesive final performance that showcases their different abilities and offers the audience an emotionally rich and nuanced listening experience. In all of these arenas, Rivka is known for her desire to connect with the audience, her joy in her craft, her warmth, and for “blooming where she’s planted”
