Heidi J. Moore, Guest Instructor
Heidi Moore is one of the most visible advocates for children’s healthcare reform in the State of Georgia.
After the birth of her first son, Jacob, who has Down syndrome and Autism, she elected to put her career on hold and stay home to ensure his needs were met. Heidi is very involved in many disability organizations and committees, the State Advisory Panel for special education, and has organized two healthcare rallies at the State Capitol to help educate our elected officials on solutions needed for a better healthcare system in Georgia.
Heidi was appointed by two Governor’s to be on the Olmstead Planning Committee for home and community based services for individuals with disabilities and mental health concerns. She is currently on the Developmental Disabilities Advisory Council and Georgia Participant Direction Family Action Network for the State of Georgia. In 2016, she was appointed by Governor Deal to serve on the Georgia Council on Developmental Disabilities and is currently on the executive committee. Heidi is also involved in various disability and childhood cancer nonprofit organizations and Boards of Directors.
